The Cambodia Immersion presents the opportunity for participants to experience the urban and rural cultures of Cambodia. This immersion begins in Phnom Penh where you will visit the Royal Palace and Silver Pagoda, two of the nest examples of Khmer architecture. Throughout the trip you will gain insight into the history of Cambodia, particularly through visiting the Killing Fields where you will gain an appreciation of the struggle that Cambodian people have faced and their tremendous courage to move on and rebuild their nation. During the Immersion you will visit and volunteer at Banteay Prieb Vocational Training Centre and home for individuals with physical disabilities, polio, and landmine victims. Programs at Banteay Prieb impart skills and values that enhance student’s dignity and lay the groundwork for self-reliance. In Battamband and Siem Reap participants will work to improve the livelihood of local communities through activities such as building toilets, planting trees and interacting with children at village schools.
